Field Recordings is a new multimedia projects by New-York ensemble Bang On A Can All-Stars. It is based on the idea of collaborative experimentation.
Composers from all around the word have recorded a single piece of sound: a voice, a music sound or an old fashioned melody… Using this set of tools to create new pieces, the artists have reconnected past and present.
A dozen of composers have played with this astonishing collection of sounds: Brice Dessner, David Lang, Julia Wolfe, Christian Marclay, Mira Calix, and Michael Gordon to name a few.
