This season, there will be three moments dedicated to African contemporary dance. Each evening will consist of a double bill: a show presented by an important figure of the African contemporise dance scene, and another one by an emerging artist. Female empowerment is one of our themes this season, so it will be an all-female programme.
The first of these special focuses will be dedicated to not one but two young artists. Kettly Noël is originally from Haiti and is now based in Bamako. Her piece TiChèlbè is part of the repertoire of African contemporary dance. Oumaïna Manaï, a Tunisian dancer and choreograph will perform the piece for us. To complete the evening, a young Madagascan will premiere her new piece, Métamorphose.
