After 3xBXL and 5xBXL the duo t.r.a.n.s.i.ts.c.a.p.e think big with 19xBXL.

This performance – conceived of as a hybrid exhibition/show in which the audience is free to wander around as it pleases – aims to sublimely render 19 life trajectories through 19 choreographic portraits. 19xBXL is a story of encounters woven around people sharing different relationships with movement: aerial fabric, Rwandan dance, CrossFit, contortion...

19 is also the number of municipalities in Brussels: 19xBXL claims the expression of a rich plurality through the diversity of movements and cultures on its territory. Transposed to the field of dance and movement, the expression “There’s as much Brussels as there are residents” could equally be “There are as many approaches to movement as there are dancers”.

Rokia Bamba, the show's sound designer, will also be performing live.

Bio
We created the duo t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e (Pierre Larauza and Emmanuelle Vincent) in 2003 in Hong Kong, with the ambition of creating a dialogue between dance and the visual arts. We moved to Brussels in 2004, and have since travelled from Europe to Asia and Africa, performing at numerous international festivals. This cross-cultural trajectory has led us to present our projects on stage, in public spaces, museums and galleries. In the course of our choreographic creations, our roles have intersected to nurture a shared multi-disciplinarity: as visual artists and choreographers, we explore movement in hybrid forms in which the scenographic device plays a key role.
