MON PERE DISAIT

Amandine Laval

At the back of an almost bare stage, a seated, concentrated woman waits. gets ready. Behind her, in the distance, a long table, richly decorated, magnificently laid. The atmosphere is festive, the woman doesn't need to be. The reception is likely to be spectacular, but the woman doesn't need to be. Suddenly, she stands up - and with the precision and regularity of a metronome - replays the album of her life. Through the memories she conjures up, she manages to reclaim her history. Little by little, she (re)becomes the "subject" of her story, and learns to do without external validation.
