Alex Zhang Hungtai, a Canadian composer of Taiwanese origin formerly known as Dirty Beaches, transports us with a daring performance combining improvisation, free jazz and electronic explorations. A multi-instrumentalist, he uses the saxophone, drums and synthesiser to create immersive soundscapes, accompanied by distortions and haunting melodies. Both futuristic and melancholic, his Lynchian universe – he also made an appearance in the series Twin Peaks: The Return – invites us on a hypnotic journey. Far from being a simple concert, the performance offers a soundscape where music takes on an organic form. An invitation to lose oneself in an inner space.
