With Again Forever, Lisa Vereertbrugghen continues her exploration of the political powers of movement by taking an unexpected turn: that of the slow dance. Going against the grain of speed, performance, and efficiency that shapes our lives, the choreographer makes slow dance a collective, intimate, and profoundly subversive act.
Like rave’s gentle sister, Again Forever transforms slowing down into a space of resistance, disruption, and connection. Bodies draw near, listen in to each other and attune differently, within a collective perception of time that carries with it a queer and anti-patriarchal potential.
A sensitive and radical piece that gives slow movement its full political power back.
