We don’t need any more barrier between us. Our sense of affiliation and exclusion is determined by a growing economic and political distrust, religious claims, identarian movements and social immobility. They are real and symbolic walls that force us to turn in on ourselves. How can we share, give and receive with a circle wider than our direct cultural surroundings?

Syhem Belkhodja is no stranger to this question and has devised a way to break those walls. From Tunis to Brussels, she enlisted a few young people who didn’t think they’d ever perform Abou Laagra or Anne-Teresa de Keersmaker choreographies…
