Boudoir

Steven Cohen

Queer performer and visual artist, the legendary Steven Cohen lives in a small boudoir-like house. Reconstructed for this creation, this cabinet of intimate curiosities houses objects full of so many memories linked to his creations and experiences of the past. Both host and part of the very furniture, he receives the public in this chamber of memories, where the links between intimacy and political struggles, art history and traces of colonial, racial and sexual violence that he has faced in his body as well as in his works are reframed. At the confluence of his performance art and his work as a visual artist, the Boudoir is a sumptuous place.
