Not many artists manage to reinvent themselves as successfully as Soulwax. The Dewaele brothers are about to prove it once again with their first studio album in seven years, “All Systems Are Lying”, due out on 17 October, as well as a new live show. Let yourself be carried away by Soulwax's irresistible rhythms on 17 and 18 December at Les Halles de Schaerbeek. Tickets for these concerts will be available this Friday, 29 August at 10 a.m.
Formed by brothers Stephen and David Dewaele in 1995, Soulwax constantly pushes the boundaries of music into new and innovative territory. They are also recognised as one of the most creative teams of remixers and producers. In addition to their band, the Dewaele brothers are involved in a number of other projects: they are DJs (2manydjs), own a label (DEEWEE) and have created the Despacio sound system in collaboration with James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. Described by the two brothers as ‘a rock album made without any electric guitars’, “All Systems Are Lying” was composed entirely using modular synthesizers, live drums, tape recorders and processed vocals. With this new album, Soulwax holds up a broken mirror to a society on the brink of collapse, where truth is distorted by filters, algorithms and noise.
