Claudio Stellato
A master of materials, Claudio Stellato has already delighted us by juggling stacks of wood in La Cosa and playing eccentric handymen in Work. In People, he continues his exploration of unstable worlds through objects. Very quickly, the stage fills with a jumble of finds generously splattered with black paint, manipulated by characters caught in an emotional storm, overcome with screams, laughter and tears. Gradually, silhouettes and objects merge into a kind of large living sculpture that blends improvised celebration with frenzied ritual.
Drawing inspiration from people living on the streets and from obsessive accumulation, People reveals the unexpected poetry that emerges amidst the chaos. When the precarious balance of bodies and disorder reveals the beauty of human vulnerability.
