Breathtaking? No doubt about it! An imposing structure rises, its forms like buildings to be climbed. Helmets firmly strapped to their heads, two female motorbikers climb them, before disappearing behind these mountains made of fabric.
In Fabulation, Gianna Sutterlet and Constance Bugnon combine their talents as aerialists and acrobats in a hybrid performance where circus arts blend with physical stunt work, and vice versa. The motorcycle becomes their central apparatus: sometimes a support for balance, sometimes a vehicle to provoke falls or flights. The live feats performed on stage leave you breathless and in awe. Yet every movement is calculated: as in the movies, special effects help erase the boundary between illusion and reality.
Fabulation subverts the traditionally masculine world of stunt work and seeks to create an acrobatic playground that is as liberating as it is joyful.
