Why a remake? Because this show was inspired by creator Maroussia Diaz Verbèke’s previous creation. In Circus remix she co-opted circus as a departure point of exploration within which, as a veritable one-woman band, she did all the turns and played all the parts.
Circus remake is about transmission. A re-creation unfurled for interpretation by two new performers, Niń Khelifa and Theresa Kuhnet. This remake of the remix gives rise to a performance within a performance that exploits the device and references of this circular path. The show consists of ten or so turns combined to form a performance teeming with physical prowess, ceiling walking and acrobatics. You’ll be continually amazed by this astonishing creation, with its background of hundreds of extracts from the archives recomposing a new and profound poetic text.
